FIELD NOTE 00 · AUG 2026
JAPAN MARKET EVIDENCE / GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY
We study the public evidence global technology companies give Japanese buyers — across language, trust, local operating context and AI-assisted discovery.
THE PILOT THESIS
Translation can make a product readable. It does not, by itself, establish local support, implementation responsibility, security evidence, customer proof or a purchase path.
WHAT THE FIRST 50 CHANGED
The harder fields required structured human review. All ten-case findings remain provisional until the reliability gate is complete.
Analysable homepages exposing at least one Japanese-site signal.
Contrasting review cases with a complete Japanese purchase path observed.
Review cases with any Japan-specific customer or partner evidence observed.
Interpretation limit: the 50-company set tested feasibility; the ten cases were selected for contrast. Neither is a prevalence estimate.
QUERY → EVIDENCE → ACTION
No synthetic visibility score. No claim that one technical file determines AI visibility. Every observation keeps its source and denominator.
Start with what a Japanese buyer needs to decide — not a keyword list.
Inspect the pages, sources and operating signals available to that buyer.
Check whether product, trust and purchase evidence survives the market boundary.
Identify the first missing page or proof item worth fixing.
WHAT THIS MAY BECOME
IN DEVELOPMENT
One inspectable view of what a Japanese buyer can understand, verify and act on — and the first evidence gap worth fixing.
The public research comes first. Scope and commercial packaging will follow evidence, not precede it.
