PUBLIC RESEARCH / JAPAN MARKET ENTRY

Research that shows what buyers can actually verify.

We separate language availability from the evidence a Japanese buying team needs to assess responsibility, trust, implementation and purchase continuity.

FIELD NOTE 0050

companies in a maximum-variation feasibility sample

PUBLISHED 25 AUG 2026

A Japanese page is not the same as Japan buyer evidence.

The first study tests a simple distinction: a translated page can explain a product without showing who supports it locally, how an enterprise verifies it, or whether the buying path survives the market boundary.

  • 42 analysable homepages
  • 11 with at least one Japanese-site signal
  • 10 deliberately contrasting manual reviews

THE STUDY PROGRAMME

Reliability before scale.

Field Note 00 is a feasibility study, not a ranking. Each gate has to survive before a larger claim is made.

01 · COMPLETE

Feasibility

Test access, field definitions and the difference between route presence and buyer evidence.

02 · NEXT

Reliability

Time the manual review, blind re-code selected cases and revise ambiguous fields.

03 · PLANNED

Population

Deduplicate official event sources and lock the eligible company frame before collection.

04 · CONDITIONAL

Publication

Release findings, denominators, methodology, machine-readable observations and corrections together.

PUBLICATION CONTROLS

Every number keeps its boundary.

Sources stay visible

Population sources, retrieval dates and cited public pages accompany the finding.

Missing stays in the denominator

Robots restrictions, failed fetches and inaccessible evidence are not silently converted into absence.

No paid ranking

A correction can change recorded evidence. Payment cannot buy a favourable result.

Limits travel with the claim

Purposeful samples and provisional human coding are labelled where readers encounter the number.
